Privacy Policy For Pos
Version 1.0 | Last updated: July 9, 2026 | Effective: July 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how StoreEngine POS (“the App”) handles information when you use it. StoreEngine POS is developed and maintained by Kodezen LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), a limited liability company registered in the United States.
StoreEngine POS is a point-of-sale application that connects to a merchant’s own self-hosted WordPress site running the StoreEngine plugin. The App is used by merchants and their staff to manage products, customers, orders, and sales at the point of sale.
1. WHO CONTROLS YOUR DATA
StoreEngine POS does not operate its own backend server and does not collect, store, or have access to your store’s business data. When you sign in, the App connects directly, over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection, to the WordPress site URL and account you provide. All product, customer, and order data handled by the App resides on your own WordPress hosting, under your control, subject to your own site’s privacy policy and data retention practices.
For the purposes of data protection law, you (the merchant) are the data controller for your store’s business data. Kodezen LLC acts only as the developer of the client application and does not operate any server that receives or stores your store’s business data.
2. INFORMATION THE APP ACCESSES
2.1 Store Login Credentials
When you connect the App to your store, you provide your site URL and account credentials. These credentials are stored securely on your device using the operating system’s dedicated secure storage — the iOS Keychain on Apple devices and the Android Keystore system on Android devices — so you do not need to log in each time. Credentials are transmitted only to the WordPress site you specified, and never to Kodezen LLC or any third party.
2.2 Product, Customer, and Order Data
The App retrieves and sends product listings, customer records (such as name, phone number, and email address), and order and sales data directly to and from your own WordPress site’s REST API. This data is used solely to operate the point-of-sale features — searching products, checking out orders, looking up customers, processing refunds, and viewing sales history. It is not copied to, or retained by, any server operated by Kodezen LLC.
2.3 Camera and Photo Gallery
The App can use your device’s camera or photo gallery to attach photographs to product listings. This is entirely optional and is only accessed after you grant consent, either during first-time onboarding or at the point of use. Photos you capture or select are uploaded only to your own connected WordPress site as part of a product’s image, in the same manner as any other product data. The App does not access your camera or gallery for any other purpose, and does not transmit photos anywhere other than to your own store.
2.4 Local App Settings
The App stores a small amount of configuration locally on your device, including:
- Printer settings (for example, a receipt printer’s name or local network address)
- Recently used customers, to enable quicker checkout
- Onboarding status and camera/gallery consent status
This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to Kodezen LLC.
2.5 Receipt Printing
If you configure a network receipt printer, the App connects directly to that printer’s IP address over your local Wi-Fi network to send print jobs. This connection remains within your local network and is not routed through, or visible to, Kodezen LLC.
3. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT
Kodezen LLC does not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reports, diagnostics, or usage tracking data through the App. The App contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting software development kits (SDKs).
We do not sell or share your data, because we do not have access to it. Your business data resides on your own WordPress hosting and on your own device.
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services. The only external systems the App communicates with are:
- Your own WordPress site — over an encrypted HTTPS/TLS connection, using credentials you provide.
- Your local network receipt printer — if you choose to configure one, over your local Wi-Fi network.
Neither of these transmits data to Kodezen LLC. Please note that the app stores through which you obtain the App (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play) may collect information under their own privacy policies, which are outside our control.
5. DATA SECURITY
All communication between the App and your WordPress site is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Login credentials are stored using the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore system, which are hardware-backed, operating-system-level secure storage facilities sandboxed to the App and inaccessible to other applications on your device. Other local settings are stored in the App’s sandboxed application storage.
While we implement these safeguards in the App, the security of your store’s data also depends on the security of your own WordPress hosting environment, which remains your responsibility.
6. YOUR CHOICES AND CONTROL
- Camera and gallery permissions — you can revoke consent at any time by declining the permission prompt when asked, or by managing app permissions in your device settings.
- Signing out — signing out of the App removes your stored credentials from the device’s secure storage.
- Your business data — because it resides on your own WordPress site, you control its retention and deletion directly through your WordPress administration dashboard.
7. DATA DELETION
You can delete all data associated with the App at any time, without contacting us:
- Locally stored credentials and settings — sign out of the App to clear stored credentials, or uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data (credentials, printer settings, recent customers, and consent status) from your device.
- Store business data — because products, customers, and orders reside on your own WordPress site, you delete this data directly through your WordPress administration dashboard, in accordance with your own data retention practices.
Kodezen LLC holds no copy of your credentials, your store’s business data, or any usage data, and therefore has no data of yours to delete. If you have questions about deletion, you may contact us using the details in Section 12.
8. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER DATA PROTECTION LAW
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing.
Because Kodezen LLC does not collect or hold your personal data or your store’s business data, these rights are exercised directly against the data you control:
- Data on your device may be removed by signing out or uninstalling the App (see Section 7).
- Data on your WordPress site is under your control as the data controller, and you may exercise these rights through your own WordPress administration dashboard.
Kodezen LLC does not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA, and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
9. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
StoreEngine POS is a business tool intended for use by merchants and their staff. It is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will assist as appropriate.
10. INTERNATIONAL USERS
Kodezen LLC is based in the United States. Because the App does not transmit your data to us, no international transfer of your store’s business data to Kodezen LLC takes place through your use of the App. Data flows only between your device, your own WordPress site, and (if configured) your local printer — all under your control.
11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App’s functionality or in applicable law. We will update the “Version” and “Last updated” details at the top of this policy when changes are made. Material changes will be communicated through the App or our website where practicable. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. GOVERNING LAW
This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which Kodezen LLC is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
