The StoreEngine Invoice addon lets you automatically generate and send downloadable PDF invoices for customer orders. It’s built to simplify your store’s billing process while maintaining a professional, branded look. Whether you’re selling digital or physical products, this addon helps you manage customer invoices with ease and clarity.

Activate the Invoice Addon

To begin using the Invoice addon, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Addons Menu
  2. Go to your WordPress dashboard → StoreEngineAddons.

Find the Invoice addon in the list and toggle it ON to activate. After activation, you can access the invoice settings in two ways:

  1. Click the Gear Icon
  2. Hover over the Invoice addon and click the gear icon to go straight to the settings panel.

Or,

  1. Manually via the Menu
  2. Go to: StoreEngineSettingsInvoice

Once inside, you’ll find all the options to customize your invoice design, business info, and output format.

Note: Before generating invoices, you must download the required font.

Without this font, PDF invoices cannot be created.

  1. Click the Download Fonts button shown at the top of the Invoice settings screen.

Customize Invoice Settings

Upload your store’s logo to be shown at the top of the invoice.

  1. Supported formats: PNG, JPG, JPEG
  2. Recommended size: 512×512 pixels

Paper Size

Choose the size of the invoice page.

Available options:

  1. A4
  2. A3
  3. Letter

Date Format

Select your preferred date format to be used across the invoice. (This uses standard WordPress date format settings.)

Display Invoice Button

Control when the “Download Invoice” button should appear on the order page.

Options include:

  1. Always
  2. When order is paid
  3. Never

Invoice Attach To

Decide which customer emails should include the invoice as an attachment.

Example options include:

  1. Order Refund Customer
  2. Order Confirmation Customer
  3. Order Status Customer

View PDF

Choose how to view the invoice when accessed from the order panel:

  1. Preview: Opens the invoice in a new tab to view before download.
  2. Download: Immediately downloads the PDF file.

Date to Show in the Invoice

Select which date should appear on the invoice:

  1. Date of order creation
  2. Date when order turns into paid

Enable this option to include product images in the invoice.

Use the toggle to turn it on or off.

Invoice Note

Add a custom note to be shown in the invoice. This could include additional instructions, messages, or terms.

Write any footer message you want to display at the bottom of the invoice. This could include contact info, thank-you notes, legal text, etc.

Save Settings

Once all invoice options are configured, click the Save button (top-right) to apply changes.

Admin Order Details Page

On the order details page in the admin panel, you’ll find an Invoice section on the right-hand side. It includes two buttons:

  1. Order Invoice: Clicking this button generates a downloadable PDF invoice for the selected order. This action helps store admins quickly create an invoice document without leaving the page.

  3. Send Invoice To Customer: This button sends the generated invoice directly to the customer’s email address associated with the order.

Note: The Send Invoice To Customer button will only be available if the Email Addon is active.
