Product FAQ

What it does: Adds a frequently asked questions section to your products. You can write questions on an individual product, and — in Global mode — build reusable FAQ Groups that automatically appear on whole categories, brands, or specific products.

Built-in feature — no add-on needed. It’s on by default.

Turn it on and choose a mode

Enable FAQ
  1. Go to StoreEngine → Settings → Products.
  2. Enable FAQs by default.
  3. Set FAQ management to one of:
    • Global (FAQ groups + category/brand targeting) (default) — write per-product FAQs and build a reusable library.
    • Product only (add FAQs per product) — only per-product questions; the library is hidden.
  4. Save.

After switching modes, reload the admin — the FAQs menu is added or hidden on page load.

Add FAQs to a single product

FAQs for single product
  1. Edit a product.
  2. Open the FAQ tab in the product options.
  3. Add your questions and answers.

These show on that product only.

Product FAQ

Build a reusable FAQ library (Global mode)

Go to Products → FAQs to create an FAQ Group — a set of Q&As you can reuse. For each group you choose where it applies:

  • Everywhere (store-wide)
  • Specific Categories
  • Specific Brands
  • Specific Products

A group appears on any product that matches its targeting.

How they combine on the storefront

A product shows, in order:

  1. Its own inline questions (added on the product), then
  2. Every FAQ Group that matches it (by store-wide, product, category, or brand).

FAQ Groups stack — a product can display several matching groups at once.

Optional: place the FAQ block manually

  • [storeengine_single_product_faq] — outputs the merged FAQ for the current product, if you want it in a specific spot.

Troubleshooting

  • The FAQs menu isn’t showing — it only appears when Enable FAQs is on and FAQ management is set to Global. Reload the admin after changing either.
  • A group isn’t appearing on a product — check the group’s targeting (category / brand / product) actually matches that product.
